Surprise, another Democrat has been accused of insider trading.
This time it is Rep. Kathy Manning (D-N.C.).
Manning gobbled up chip stocks just before the extensive subsidy legislation was passed this year.
She must have called Paul Pelosi up for the hot stocks.
Her trade was not quite as bold as Pelosi’s, but you have to start with a first brick.
Manning purchased around $30,000 in Micro and as much as $95,000 in Nvidia, the company that Paul Pelosi had taken out options on.
Manning, after the vote passed, touted making herself some money.
She stated, “I’m proud of my vote to pass this historic investment in American CHIP manufacturing, lower costs, and creating good-paying jobs.”
She forgot to add, “and making my husband and I richer.”
Of course, she is saying that she is innocent and a third party handles her investments.
Her office stated, “Neither Congresswoman Manning nor her husband exercised, or attempted to exercise, any control or direction over any transactions executed within the accounts.
“Congresswoman Manning supported the CHIPS Act to maintain semiconductor chip manufacturing in the United States because it creates good-paying American jobs and protects national security.”
