You are correct that news could pop at any minute. Is there ANY chance, even 1%, that it could be that CYDY is going under? EVEN 1%? Of course.
You (and I) are not betting that it will be a while before we get meaningful news that pops the SP, however 2 years ago, we were all DAMN SURE that we'd be rich as hell by now. Maybe we thought the chance we'd still only be at $.80 was 1%, but look at us now.
I get your point, but again, shorts are professionals and not stupid. We just like to play the other side. Remember, when someone playing craps bets with the house, it doesn't mean that they want the other players to lose, they just feel they want the better odds.
