Are you familiar with the expression "Rip tides"...it's like flailing your arms in the water...going a mile a minute...but you haven't moved...because the current (shorts) are fighting you...sometimes you have to go with the flow...gain strength and head for the shore.
I have actually twisted a propeller...after being grounded by a riptide in Van. B.C...the yacht was 52 ft long...it didn't matter....felt like a matchbox. Mother will be showing up soon.
