Paul Pelosi In Hot Water For Showing Police Group

A law enforcement group in California is furious with Paul Pelosi and is considering removing his membership in the group after what he did during his traffic stop where he was charged with a DUI.
During the May traffic stop it was reported that the husband of House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi showed the officers his membership card, Fox News reported.
“The California Highway Patrol 11-99 (CHP 11-99) Foundation confirmed that any member who brings its name or property into law enforcement contact is in violation of the group’s terms and conditions agreement. The foundation noted the part of its policy which states that attempting to use membership in exchange for ‘preferential treatment’ in any contact with police will result in immediate termination,” Fox News said.
“We will await the outcome of this trial and will evaluate Mr. Pelosi’s membership status once we have all of the facts,” group spokesperson Laura Reed said to Fox News. “If it is proven he violated our terms and conditions, we will revoke his membership and we would request that all membership items be returned as they are property of the 11-99 Foundation.”
“Once we receive those items, we would issue a refund of any contribution he’s made to the Foundation,” she said.
“These cards are used to identify our members at various public and private events and to show pride in membership and support of the CHP,” she said.
Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, appeared in court on Wednesday after being charged with Driving Under the Influence back in May.
Pelosi was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and driving with a .08% blood alcohol level or higher.
A lawyer for Paul Pelosi appeared on his behalf in a Napa County court for his arraignment on DUI charges.
The attorney, Amanda Bevins, entered a plea of not guilty to both counts on her client’s behalf.
Pelosi will remain free on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. PT.
In June, California law enforcement released the mugshot of Paul Pelosi from his DUI arrest.
“Police release booking photo of Speaker Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi from late May after he was arrested for DUI,” Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram wrote on Twitter. “Napa County says the decision to release or withhold mugshots is up to police. Not DA.”
“Mr. Pelosi received the same treatment under that policy that all individuals released from County Jail receive,” Napa County law enforcement officials said. “No state law specifically requires the release of booking photos or mugshots, but policies regarding this topic can vary by jurisdiction.”
Pelosi’s attorney released a statement following his late May arrest.
“Several news reports about Saturday night’s traffic incident involving Paul Pelosi have included incorrect information,” the attorney said. “Mr. Pelosi was attending a dinner party at the home of friends near Oakville.”
“He left that party at 10:15 PM Saturday, to drive to his home a short distance away. He was alone in his car,” the statement continued. “After stopping at the intersection of Walnut Drive and Highway 29, and proceeding across Highway 29 to Oakville Cross Road, his car was hit on the back fender by a Jeep heading southbound on Highway 29.”
The attorney claimed that Paul Pelosi was “fully cooperative with California Highway Patrol officers” and that “a prior driving offense erroneously attributed to Mr. Pelosi is untrue and likely refers to another person with the same name.”
“There are also incorrect reports that misstate the timing of events,” the statement concluded. “Mr. Pelosi left the dinner party at 10:15 PM Saturday. The incident happened a few minutes later.”
Speaker Pelosi’s office released a statement at the time saying the 80-year-old California lawmaker would not be commenting on the alleged crime.
“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” spokesman Drew Hammill said in a statement.
A California district attorney is also refusing to release the police body cam showing the arrest of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi.
It was also revealed last month that Paul Pelosi allegedly “killed” his older brother when he lost control of a car that he was driving back when he was a teenager in 1957.
