Particularly, I'm thinking of the FDA’s reticence to accept promotional statements of Leronlimab’s safety
The FDA pretended that Leron had no safety data after hundreds of patients had been safely treated with Leron in HIV clinical trials. That was bull.
But the FDA is still at it. I'm in another stock, a small compny called SIGA, w/ a drug that treats monkeypox. The drug was approved for smallpox in the US, but for both smallpox and monkeypox in Europe. Even so, the FDA on Friday took it upon itself to announce out of the blue that Siga's drug had not demonstrated efficacy (vs. monkeypox in humans) OR safety. Clearly the drug is safe -- the FDA has already approved it!
Emergent Bio has recently bought the drug competing with Siga -- a drug that, incidentally, failed its monkepox challenge (all the monkeys died). Again, I believe, the FDA is in thrall to the wishes of Big Pharma.
Never mind the safety and even survival of patients. The big dogs lead the FDA by the nose.
