Rusty, there is a certain point when kids get too far out in nowhere land and need a little bit of convincing but a kid can have some problems but once a parent has been assured medically that the child can process and understand information in a normal way they should be handle normally. There are kids that really can't process typical instructions but also there are times when processing isn't normal or normal speed that one top of that their actions/reactions make no common sense. Some of these kids are NOT Autistic but borderline yet enough time in the years they can almost become within the norm but still might make you wonder what they are really thinking. Can be over the top in some areas in school or verbal discussions but 2 + 2 isn't seen as 4 all the time and still might need daily structured events and the slightest change is always noted even a nanosecond change.
