Hunter Biden’s legal issues may actually become a problem

Hunter Biden’s legal issues may actually become a problem for him after years’ worth of investigations.

Federal authorities have been probing various aspects of the first son’s life and business dealings for years, but they haven’t produced much for their efforts, at least publicly, much to the chagrin of critics.

However, according to Fox News, Hunter Biden’s fortunes may be about to change.

Citing an anonymous source, the network reported Wednesday that the office of Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss was considering filing charges against the first son with “various tax” crimes and “possible foreign lobbying” violations.

“A separate source told Fox News that the federal grand jury looking into Hunter Biden’s business dealings wrapped up its latest term late last month, but said no charges have been filed,” Fox News reported, adding that, according to the source, Hunter Biden could also face charges of lying to investigators.

The source added that no final decisions have been made regarding charges and that the investigations are ongoing.

Steven Cheung, a former White House special assistant to President Donald Trump, tweeted that even CNN was reporting that Hunter Biden may be facing some serious legal trouble, including allegedly lying on a federal gun background check application about past drug use.

“BREAKING: Even @CNN can’t deny Hunter Biden is in serious trouble.

Sources: Federal investigators have reached a critical decision point on charging Hunter Biden. Tax violations, gun charges, lying to authorities and possible money laundering, campaign finance, foreign lobbying,” he tweeted on Wednesday along with a clip of CNN host Jake Tapper reviewing the possible charges.

“CNN noted that the Department of Justice was considering whether it could bring charges right now due to a department policy about not bringing politically sensitive cases within two months of an election. However, the report added that the ‘unwritten rule’ may not even be a factor since Joe Biden is not on the ballot,” The Daily Mail added, citing the network’s reporting.

CNN also noted that some officials say they are concerned because Hunter Biden is a known crack cocaine addict and his legal team may argue that he wasn’t aware of the potential crimes he allegedly committed because of his drug use.

There is also some circumstantial evidence that Hunter Biden’s business dealings involved his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, though the latter has denied any involvement in his son’s business interests.

For instance, a close, longtime business partner of Hunter Biden apparently made several trips to the White House during President Barack Obama’s tenure and while Joe Biden was VP, an April report noted.

Eric Schwerin, the president of Rosemont Seneca, an investment fund company that he launched with Hunter Biden, met with VP Biden in 2010, according to Obama White House visitor logs.

The firm was founded in 2009 by Hunter Biden, Christopher Heinz – stepson of former Secretary of State John Kerry, and Devon Archer – a businessman who was classmates with Heinz at Yale University. Rosemont Seneca has conducted extensive business in China.

The New York Post reported: “Eric Schwerin met with Vice President Biden on November 17, 2010, in the West Wing, when he was the president of the since-dissolved investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners.”

The report added, “The logs also reveal that Schwerin met with various close aides of both Joe and Jill Biden at key moments in Hunter’s life when he was striking multi-million dollar deals in foreign countries, including China.”

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who, along with Iowa Republican colleague Sen. Chuck Grassley, has been tracking and investigating potential Biden family corruption, noted:

“Not everyone gets to meet the vice president of the United States in the White House.

The press should be asking why Hunter Biden’s business associates — like Eric Schwerin — had that privilege and were given access to the Obama White House.

This is additional evidence that Joe Biden lied when he said he never discussed Hunter’s foreign business dealings. It’s well past time for the corporate media to demand the truth from Joe Biden. The corruption of Biden Inc. must be exposed.”
