After my initial knee jerk reaction, some thinking
Post# of 72440
After my initial knee jerk reaction, some thinking on it, and of course the blunt but accurate analysis of those of you on the board, it is crystal clear to me that very little DD was performed before opinions were formulated.
I trusted that the people I was talking to had experience in R&D tech, would take the time to do quality DD, and put some critical thinking into their assessment prior to giving me a judgment. My assumption that they did that work is what briefly compromised my certainty that I had a good handle on the actual risks of this investment. I fully expected an analysis which confirmed the risk is whether the science pans out in humans as well as it did in animals, not whether the company itself is trustworthy. When that was not the case I questioned whether I had overlooked or missed some critical information that would lead my friends to pass their judgments.
I am not upset about any of it though. It is a good learning experience, and re-enforces that I while I should always keep an open mind and be willing to accept additional input, I should trust my own research and analysis above all else. I figure it’s also a good lesson for all of us who read the board and may have or will question their own judgments from time to time.
The good news of it all is that at least I kept my head level long enough to put more critical thought into the situation before doing something rash and stupid like selling any of my shares. J
