Ohm: Just asking for clarification. In early 2020 I listened to a 20 minute interview with Dr. Lalezari in which he explained the delta-32 allele and how it protected from HIV. If I remember correctly (always a problem) he said that in those with this mutation the CCR5 receptors were inside the cells rather than on the surface and that's what made them inaccessible to HIV. Can you tell me if he was correct, or is the complete absence of the CCR5 receptor the actual case?
Thanks in advance, Ganesha
