Freshman Principal Busted on 30 Felony Sex Charges
The Williamsport Area High School is looking for a new freshman principal after Colorado State Police arrested 34-year-old Roger Weaver Freed. He won’t be coming back to class since being charged with “30 counts of indecent sexual contact with a student, one count of sexual assault, one count of aggravated indecent assault, one count of corrupting the morals of a minor, and three misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor.”
The Williamsport Area High School, which serves the vicinity of Lycoming, Colorado, was unhappy to announce that they had to fire freshman principal Roger Freed when allegations surfaced of a “long-term sexual relationship with a male student.”
State police described how the trusted educator groomed the young man from the time “the boy was in middle school in 2015.” It eventually ended when the alleged victim “was in college in April 2022.”
As reported by the local Fox affiliate, the unnamed student “told investigators that he approached Freed after noticing how other students confided in him and, after leaning on him for emotional support, stated that he trusted him ‘like an older brother.’”
Principal Freed rapidly took the relationship to a more intimate level. One that will get him more male companionship than he bargained for. In prison.
The predatory principal offered to drive his young friend “to various locations in his car for one-on-one conversations, claiming they were ‘bros‘ and could talk about anything.” The kind of bros where incest is best.
“The affidavit states that the student said that he and Freed became very close to the point that they were texting, calling each other, and FaceTiming.” If it wasn’t for the boy’s tender age, that sounds like a consensual relationship. Such normalization only makes it worse.
Freed was in a position of responsibility entrusted to prevent those sorts of shenanigans from happening anywhere near illegally immature, impressionable and confused students.
Those private conversations with the principal soon turned sexual. Freed knew he would be in serious trouble for doing what he was doing.
Reports confirm that principal Freed “stressed the importance of not telling a soul.” He also proclaimed that “it was ‘OK for bros to please each other.’”
After the ice was broken with the first sexual encounter, it was a slippery slope to “sexual acts four to five times a week.” That went on for about two years.
On one occasion, the student told authorities the principal scored them some wine and cigars. They “smoked cigars and drank red wine together at a hotel out of town before engaging in sex acts.”
After his arraignment, Freed was set loose on “$175,000 intense supervised bail.” He’ll have a stylish new ankle bracelet to monitor his location at all times. He’s also “prohibited from having any contact with the victim or unsupervised contact with any minors.“
