So you say this is common practice that a company (not DSMB or ANVISA) halt a trial of a drug with splendid safety profile, before any conclusions were done? The made the trial halt before it was even clear if the patients were on placebo or treatment arm, if I remember correctly. I cannot believe that is common practice!
