The US does not have much in the way of reserves of shale oil and gas. The shale 'miracle' required selling at a loss and destroyed around $200 billion in debt that was defaulted on. There is a lot in resources but until production becomes economic, they are useless. Australia has economic reserves of coal. Sadly, it has morons running and ruining the country.
