Mistakes with permits go way back. Bus shelters in
Post# of 12520
Everyone thinks they know everything but do NO due diligence. They just repost tweets and 3-4 year old articles. Well, here's a beauty of an SPP article before SNPW filing that nobody else read.

Snips from the article. Of course it must have been someone else's fault.

Nicholas Campanella, Sun Pacific Power's chairman and chief executive, said he had no comment on the status of the shelters.

Replacement plans flop
It hasn't been an easy ride so far. Manalapan-based Sun Pacific Power, the township's vendor, had plans to install bus shelters along Route 9 at no cost to taxpayers.
But those shelters, which went up at Lanes Mill Road in Howell and at Schibanoff Lane and in front of Burlington Coat Factory in Freehold Township, came with digital advertising, drawing the ire of the state Department of Transportation, which feared they would distract passing drivers. While Sun Pacific Power obtained municipal permits for the shelters, no one thought to call the state, which ordered the digital signs turned off.

"We have no permit authorized to put a bus stop at that location (Edinburgh Drive)," Township Administrator Peter Valesi said. "None of the bus stops were authorized."

Steps not followed
The state has given the township "step-by-step procedures" to place "legal" bus stops, said Township Engineer Timothy White. "Apparently, that wasn't followed way back when at Edinburgh Drive and other locations."
imho
