My guess, is that they are capable of "switching off this gene that prunes memories, thereby boosting recall" by binding to CCR5. Binding to CCR5 prevents CCL5 from binding there. CCL5 would have encoded for pruning memory. Maraviroc interferes with that process.
As I remember, I don't believe Maraviroc crosses the blood brain barrier. If Ohm would confirm this, it would be appreciated. LL gets into the brain cells. Into the glial cells and blocks CCL5 chemokine which would induce forgetfulness and brain fog. For Alzheimer's, LL is a no brainer.
Not just Alzheimer's, think of short term memory loss. Think of the need to improve memory. No, LL will not be sold as a memory supplement, but rather as a pharmaceutical for neurologic indications. People will find a way to get it when it becomes known what it can do for them.
