You’re both missing the point and there’s no need for you or him to be defensive. It’s something many new writers struggle with and get defensive about. In short, anyone who writes 1000 words when they could deliver the same point in far less is an ineffective communicator and stepping on their own message. Why do it? If it were vocal, we would say that person is in love with their own voice.

Again, I like MGK and think he has a great deal to offer. Just cut those epic posts in half and cut the superfluous stuff.
