Not easy to describe the difference other than seeing it for yourself. It's hard to come up with a great analogy also. I could say...
Flea Market vs Shopping Mall;
Resale shop vs. Macy, Forever 21, etc
Hotdog Cart vs. Restaurant
Craigslist vs eBay
1000 Line DIY vs VerbLIVE
Each of those sites other than the DIY will make money and definitely have a place. I don't see Market entertaining someone with a side hustle trying to sell Pokémon cards.
It reminds me of when I looked at Facebook Live on how garage sale it felt. Rather clunky even for that. Oh and try to find the live videos or someone selling. There is so much Live stuff on Facebook, sellers get swallowed up. Big brands don't want to be mixed in with the garage sale.
Maybe this link will work for you. Turn on Live if it isn't already. Pick anything rather than me giving you links to specific bad live events. Most are pretty sad when it comes to selling.

Once again, Whatnot raised $150M in September and valued back then at $1.5 billion. 10x what they raised. What's the value today, idk. They raised a total (or blew) $225 million.
Verb's market cap is $50M today. A 1/3 of what Whatnot raised (not valued) in September. Less than 1/4 of what Whatnot raised and Verb already has the technology to lead in every category. It's what Whatnot wants to do, but can't even get there after raising $225M.
Co-founder Grant Lafontaine: "He sees “thousands” of potential categories they can expand into. One they’re working on right now: NFTs."
Investors can decide what Verb's Market is as they start launching in many categories and what it will be 3 months, 6 months, 9 months down the road. Remember, Whatnot already is a comp for LIVE Selling in a few categories. Their value last September was 15x that of Verb at the moment. Who knows, when Whatnot raises money again, which they will, likely $3B valuation.
Here's the link: https://whatnot.com/ Have at it.
