Just IMHO and experience. It seems like running a biotech is a little different than running a manufacturing plant or car dealership. The boss needs to be able to talk the talk with the regulators and the scientists AND have management savvy. Having their respect is critical.
Which means surrounding yourself with people who are absolutely the tops in the field. A wise old timer once suggested: "If you want to be a success, hire people smarter than you."
Fortunately, for me that creates a fairly large prospect pool.
