I gotta admit it’s pretty obvious as soon as the mask mandate was lifted everyone got sick. Is it Covid or is it people catching stuff we haven’t rly been in contact as often bc of mask protecting ppl from other sicknesses? As you know I’m not huge into mask yet I’m pointing out what I’m seeing. So I get some of your anger Evil.
I think everyone is just so over Covid and then here it is again, fucking everything up and reminding us it’s here to stay..
On a serious note my kid is going into speech class now and they are so back logged Bc they are seeing massive issues with kids and delayed speech, many far worse than my son. We talked to the speech therapist that my son will be seeing in the summer. She said kids are having massive issues with speech because of the mask. Go figure.
She said kids can’t see their teachers mouth/lips when they talk because they are wearing a mask. Same goes for kids interacting with each other. It’s making it very difficult for young kids to learn. Anyways you get my drift. It isn’t as simple as ppl make it. Our private school for our kids no longer mandates mask for the kids. Some teachers wear them. Almost all of the parents including myself are very happy about it.
So it’s not a one size fits all. I saw only one person wearing a masking this drill weekend. Mind you I saw probably 1000 people on base today. A lot of people disagree with the mask mandate. So yea I get it but apparently nobody cares anymore including me from the start.
My kids speech suffered bc people wanted to mandate mask for healthy young kids. Now we have who knows how many issues from these mask other than just speech. Yet I know almost of no kids with issues from covid. Not saying kids didn’t suffer either, but it appears to be very minimal probably compares to just the speech issues alone. Let’s not get into all the other issues it may have caused.
So yea hate us anti maskers but from the looks of it we aren’t the minority, but actually the majority. I wonder why. Yes we don’t want adults to get sick but I’d gladly get covid over and over again so my kid didn’t have speech issues and to have to deal with wearing a mask over his face all day in School. I can deal with covid in return my kids lives a somewhat normal life. Rant over. I think you get where I stand.
Tomorrow is Monday. Let’s hope we have some news and something to talk about as I think we should move on once the clock strikes 9 am tmw!
