The logs show that Eric Schwerin, former president of Hunter’s now-defunct Rosemont Seneca company, made 19 trips to the White House from 2009 to 2015, nine of which included meetings with Biden, his associates and Jill Biden’s associates.
Hunter Biden’s closest business partner made at least 19 visits to the White House and other official locations between 2009 and 2015, including a sitdown with then-Vice President Joe Biden in the West Wing.
Visitor logs from the White House of former President Barack Obama reviewed by The Post cast further doubt over Joe Biden’s claims that he knew nothing of his son’s dealings.
Eric Schwerin met with Vice President Biden on November 17, 2010 in the West Wing, when he was the president of the since-dissolved investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners.
The logs also reveal that Schwerin met with various close aides of both Joe and Jill Biden at key moments in Hunter’s life when he was striking multi-million dollar deals in foreign countries, including China. Yet President Biden has long insisted he had no involvement in his son’s foreign affairs. “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,” he said in 2019.
”Not everyone gets to meet the Vice President of the United States in the White House. The press should be asking why Hunter Biden’s business associates — like Eric Schwerin — had that privilege and were given access to the Obama White House,” said Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin).
“This is additional evidence that Joe Biden lied when he said he never discussed Hunter’s foreign business dealings. It’s well past time for the corporate media to demand the truth from Joe Biden. The corruption of Biden Inc. must be exposed.”
Of all Hunter Biden’s business associates, Schwerin had the most intimate access to the vice president’s personal finances.
According to the logs, Schwerin first arrived at the White House on October 28, 2009 to meet Biden’s adviser Evan Ryan just months after Hunter co-founded Rosemont Seneca.
Then, on February 13, 2010, he returned to meet with Jill Biden’s special assistant, Meg Campbell, and that same year, he met with Biden and his assistant, Michele Smith.
That was the year Schwerin wrote to Hunter in an email titled “JRB Future Memo” that he had been in touch with Biden and was keen to discuss business, according to emails sent by Hunter’s laptop was leaked.
“Your dad just called me… He could use some positive news about his future earning potential,” Schwerin wrote to Hunter.
Schewrin also handled Biden’s taxes that year
Schwerin then visited the west wing on August 22, 2011 to meet with Kellen Suber, a Biden executive assistant, just four days after Biden left for a summit in China.
Later that year, Hunter was in Hong Kong with Chinese tycoon Che Feng, the son-in-law of a top Chinese government official, the Post reported.
By 2013, Hunter had formed his firm BGR Partners with Chinese businessman Jonathan Li, just as Schwerin was making more visits to the White House to meet Biden’s assistant, Kathy Chung, and Biden’s administrative director, Faisal Amin.
Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson said Schwerin’s visits were unacceptable and agreed with Cruz’s call to investigate the Bidens.
The White House did not immediately respond to ‘s request for comment.
“Not everyone can meet the Vice President of the United States at the White House,” Johnson told the Post. “The press should be wondering why Hunter Biden’s business associates – like Eric Schwerin – had this privilege and access to the Obama White House.
“This is additional evidence that Joe Biden lied when he said he never discussed Hunter’s overseas business. It’s about time the corporate media demanded the truth from Joe Biden.
Biden Inc.’s corruption must be exposed, he added.
Of all Hunter Biden’s business associates, Schwerin had the most intimate access to the vice president’s personal finances.
His deep involvement in the personal and professional lives of both Bidens were first revealed in emails contained on a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden at a Delaware computer repair store in April 2019.
Hard drive emails show he was involved in Joe Biden’s personal taxes and discussed the vice president’s financial future with him.
In October 2009, just months after Hunter co-founded Rosemont Seneca, Schwerin met with Evan Ryan, Vice President Biden’s assistant for intergovernmental affairs and public liaison, in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building where the vice president’s office is based, according to the visitor logs.
While working in the halls of power Ryan acted as a conduit for Hunter Biden and his cronies, hard drive emails show.
In one email from February 18, 2010, Ryan received a request from Chris Sloan, Director of Government Relations for the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades advocating that union lawyer Craig Becker be nominated to the National Labor Relations Board. Sloan asked that Vice President Biden press Obama on the issue. Hunter was CCed.
“Thanks Chris — I will forward this one,” she responded to both.
Obama named Becker to the job through a recess appointment a month later, sparking howls of protest from Republicans at the time.
Sloan declined to comment on the emails.
The White House meetings (above) also appeared to coincide with important business relationships Hunter oversaw as he faced allegations of tax fraud, money laundering and illegal foreign lobbying
Schewrin’s visits to the White House are the latest in a series of investigations into Hunter’s business practices as he faces federal criminal prosecution on alleged tax fraud, money laundering and illegal foreign lobbying.
Earlier this month, a grand jury heard from a witness when asked about the identity of the “big guy” mentioned in an email about a possible deal with a Chinese company.
The question was asked at a secret hearing in Wilmington, Delaware – although what the unidentified witness said in response was not reported.
It comes from a March 2017 email in which a joint venture with a now-defunct Chinese energy company, CEFC China Energy Co.
A former Hunter employee previously claimed the phrase “the big guy” referred to President Biden himself, sparking calls for him to face a conspiracy investigation.
He has consistently denied any allegations of wrongdoing, with Hunter questioning why he was taking on energy company contracts when he had no knowledge of the field.
It follows that The Washington Post and The New Times also confirm the authenticity of the contents of the laptop Hunter left at a repair fair in Delaware.
Among the leaked files on his laptop are a number of emails and documents showing Hunter’s dealings with Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company.
As of May 2014, Burisma Holdings Ltd. Hunter paid $83,333 a month to sit on his board of directors, bills over his quit laptop show, until he resigned in April 2019 as his father’s presidential bid picked up steam.
In emails from the hard drive, Hunter and his business associates make apparent references to Joe’s involvement in a multi-million dollar deal with Chinese government-affiliated oil giant CEFC.
Biden has claimed he was not involved in his son’s foreign dealings, with the White House claiming that Hunter broke no laws
In December 2020, a month after the election, Biden confirmed his tax affairs would be under review.
The email’s author, James Gilliar, a UK business partner of Hunter, outlined the proposed percentage allocation of the company’s equity.
Gilliar wrote: “Taken 10 for the big guy by H?”
There has been much speculation about “the big guy” and whether this indicated that Joe Biden himself was involved in Hunter’s dealings.
Biden resigned as vice president in January 2017 and was a private citizen at the time of Gilliar’s email.
A former Hunter business partner, Tony Bobulinski, came forward just before the 2020 election to say that Biden was indeed “the big guy.”
He told Fox News that contrary to Joe Biden’s statements that he had nothing to do with his son’s business affairs, in China Hunter “frequently indicated seeking his approval or advice on various potential deals.”
Bobulinski, who is reportedly a US Navy veteran, separately told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that he had met twice with Joe Biden to discuss deals with China — the first time in May 2017.
Bobulinski’s claim was echoed by Donald Trump, who invited him to be his guest at the final presidential debate in October 2020.
Since Joe Biden took office, the White House has deflected questions about Hunter, insisting he is a private citizen and questions should be directed to Hunter’s legal team.
When asked by CBS in April 2021 about the investigation, Hunter said, “I fully cooperate. And I am absolutely sure, 100 percent sure, that I will be cleared of any wrongdoing at the end of the investigation.’
Republicans have stepped up calls to investigate Hunter Biden since the New York Times and Washington Post reported on his content.
They say it shows collusion in the media that it took so long for the reports to come out.
Members have also insisted that the 2020 election could have been different had the affairs of the president’s son come to light earlier.
If the GOP takes control of the House of Representatives in the 2022 midterm elections, as polls suggest, senior figures have promised to launch a committee investigation into Hunter Biden and hold hearings.
President Biden’s chief of staff said he doesn’t believe Hunter broke any laws with his foreign dealings.
Former President Trump last week also called on Vladimir Putin to dirty Hunter.
