I always visited the south rim of the Grand Canyon but also recall a huge difference in traffic etc since the 1990's. So much so it just isn't the same unless you spend a few days there in a cabin next to the rim. I haven't visited there since around 2010 but still is one of my top choices to spend time there. At night it was like old days where you could walk out of one of the cabins and take a short walk (if you had a decent flashlight) and be alone with the environment. Turn off the light, no sound and all alone was just heaven to me. Grand Teton is really a great place too among many others. Haven't been to Alaska but that place might be too cold for me but no doubt GODS Country.
....forgot I was wondering about the North rim or possibly a weekend to walk down to the river but that still might be too hard on the existing damages to my legs.
I noted a couple of years ago there are video's of canyon walks but the reality now days isn't that great for some of us.
Maybe Steel can run the Colorado rapids and video tape it.........maybe Salty could team up with Steel
