All the people I know are prepping the best they can
People are already cutting payments on cars they don't need, insurance, cable, internet, vacation, trips and going out.
Their next move is maxing out credit cards and then stop paying on them. Many already there...and nearing bankruptcy.
Many are already behind on rent and home payments. This is only going to get worse.
Market wise people are getting out with what liquidity they have left. What 401k money coming into the market is getting shorted as soon as it hits... And wall street is stuffing its pockets.
My March energy costs were $500 and I went almost no where. Same time 2021 they were $225. Milk is almost $4, Bread $3 and 18 eggs are $3.89. Meat is almost impossible. Limit on item and out of stock items are starting to show up.
We are heading into meltdown. Something going to POP soon...that leads into the November elections.
By September you're going to want to have a 3-6 month's supply at the least of staples and that could cost double or triple what it is now.
Even if things get fixed politically the damage already done will take months to fix.
June 1 is about the point of no return for farmer's and the food supply. Many in the Midwest sooner than that. They have their crops in by May 15th. Wheat earlier.
