I thought it was a great idea. You already have the ELOC with TSC for up to $50M. If some got spooked that Verb did what smart company do that qualify for a shelf and filed an S-3, then those same people get spooked with just about everything including positive earnings like Q3 & Q4.
If someone thinks Verb is going to run out tomorrow and blow $150M, then they are in the wrong investment. Especially since Verb just want through a significant cost cutting.
I'd also bet if for some reason the 3i deal went south, people would be up in arms Verb had to take last minute crappy funding. Shelf gives them leverage and power to negotiate in the future. Wouldn't surprise me if some intuitions said we aren't buying more shares in the market unless you have a plan b.
Now if I'm wrong about that. Then I'll go onto imagine what companies Verb would be with $150M.
