100% agree. For me, this was the most depressing revelation bc I was confident in Brazil and figured we'd be close to finished based on how many infections and deaths were happening there. Kelly's explanation about vax rates was bullshit smoke-screen IMO. Albert Einstein absolutely failed us. Now whether that's their fault, or Nader's, or a financing issue, I don't know but like you said those numbers are pathetic. I almost fell off my chair when I heard 16. We've been "enrolling" for almost a year!
Time to ditch Covid, even HIV, and partner for NASH, cancer, Long Haulers, Alzheimers, whatever it is. Or just sell-out in a BO for a reasonable price. And if you asked me to define "reasonable" it would be a 1/3 of whatever figure I would have thrown out last week.
