Here’s another story about buried treasure while

In the 1960’s my Dad and I collected a lot of the 90% silver coins before they went out of circulation. My Dad acted as financier. He would go to the bank after work and get rolls of coins for me, and I would sort through them and choose the best dates for my coin collection.
When I got older and moved away to college, my coin collection disappeared. I asked my Dad where it was, and he said that he had buried the coins somewhere on our lake property, but he wouldn’t tell me where. So while he was alive, I always wondered whether I would ever see my coin collection again.
Well, after my Dad died, sure enough there was a buried treasure map in his safe deposit box at the bank. The map told me to measure a certain distance along the wall on the underside of our cottage and then out a certain distance for “X marks the spot”. I dug down a foot or two at this location and to my surprise there was a hidden 55 gallon drum with the coins inside it! The coins never made me rich, but they were eventually worth $10-15K.
That’s my true story, -and it’s the closest I’ve ever gotten to buried treasure!
