The stock in the doldrums, beyond the general, in my opinion has a lot to do with the inability for analyst and investors to calculate any forward revenue projections. Basically all we have is number of downloads which is meaningless when it comes to revenue, as one analyst tried to explain to Rory a year ago. Analyst can't assign or forward multiple without it so you get stuck with something fairly low in the signal digits.
Hey, I get that you can't exactly share what each product cost, because every deal is different with multiple factors including volume. But what happened to the ARPU? Remember when Rory actually used metric like that? Average revenue per user. Remember we thought it was high and then got grounded that it was under a buck for a number of reasons. Well, what is it now and is there expectations of it increasing and to what. We know Verb is selling additional products like VerbLearn and VerbPulse to companies. What does that do for the ARPU?
That's the conversation that would help raise the sp. While the excitement of Market and Verb.TV is nice, the conversation on the calls has to turn to money. After all, it is an EARNINGS call.
How many companies pay for all users, some users or which let the users pay for it would be helpful. What are the penetration rates would also be nice. It's very hard to get many people to adopt technology. Is the penetration rates 10% or more? Direct Sales and Sales in general are a tough business because of high turnover. That's why selling at the company level instead of the individual level is better. Also keep in mind most companies including SaaS have to almost give away their product to get traction and momentum. That's why a lot of the VC startups lose a ton of money companies like FB, Saleforce, etc did as well. Rory mentioned on a call last year how the negotiations have changed now that Verb is #1 in direct sales. Let's talk about that some more on the call.
I also previously mentioned that along with talking about Market and Verb.TV, it would help the sp if analysts and investors actually knew the revenue model. If Verb gets a percentage of sales, what is the percentage and are there additional ways Verb also generates revenue.
Remember when Verb used to send out the weekly emails where they signed another customer. So what? How does that translate into revenue. Once Verb helps investors connect marketing & sales to revenue, then they may see the hyper revenue.
The last thing I'll add. I get a growing company at the early stages doesn't want to commit to revenue. I have to look at Bambuser to see what they are committing to IF anything. Kind of doubt it. But whether you do or not, all these sites will automatically do it for you 'magically' and if you 'miss' some automatically generated number, you'll get ding on it no matter how much you say, "record breaking...'
