Good Morning...
While we are on the subject of telehealth and all questioning the holding pattern we seam to be in while getting ready to land. Here is what I gathered...
(IMO) Dalton is waiting for these items:
Current shortage for psychiatric care and extended waitlist to get into actual clinics has forced Maryland to look outside of state for care. That is telehealth and I believe its the big players. I think right now current legislation permits them to operate in the state without amendment to the current laws. Its a big subject and multiple bills are getting passed to free up this space. The MHCC, in consultation with select State agencies, must submit recommendations on telehealth coverage and payment levels relative to in-person care to the Senate Finance Committee and the House Health and Government Operations Committee by December 1, 2022.
- February 2021 a report titled Telehealth Policy Workgroup . It outlines how a State of Emergency declared by Governor Larry Hogan on March 5, 2020 accelerated use of telehealth, quickly moving it from the fringes to the forefront of health care delivery.
- Actions taken through State Executive Orders and federal waivers made telehealth adoption and use easier for health care providers (providers) and consumers. These actions gave providers a mechanism to deliver safe
and uninterrupted care virtually during the public health emergency (PHE).

I believe this is what UNVC is waiting for. From the top Gov. and L. Gov. down the State is preparing for a major shift in care. Lobbying and policy changes as well as out of state operators are almost ready to be cleared.
Just google shortages - healthcare - Maryland. Waits up to a year to see a Dr. for mental health in a clinic. This is all a game changer (telehealth) and we will be golden soon. And maybe doc is not going for brick and mortar clinics... the trend is virtual and he must be on to something -
