My response is that while this may be true, that management doesn't care about us, I think there are just 2 main reasons for that:
1. They have something huge enough lined up that the SP doesn't matter in the near term; or
2. They have nothing (all results did not hit primary endpoints so as to warrant further exploration) and they are scrambling to save a ship that has taken on more water than it can pump out. It's basically game over save for a Hail Mary.
I put the odds at 60/40 for #1 which leans positive. We have a lot of hopes, but so far, have not shown that we can finish anything to the FDA's clear standards, so current management knows they cannot go in to the FDA half-cocked again. Come on management...do your jobs for which you are well paid. We're all trying to have faith in you, but you really do make it a challenge lately.
