Plant based meat has a little discussed issure and that is carbs. Me, I got on a keto diet to lower my diabetes medication. In 2 months I went from 15 MG's of glipizide to 5MG's. A fun thing was that I lost 20 pounds as well, and I WAS NOT TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. I was nearing needing insulin and blood sugar was my main concern.

Plant potein burgers have more carbs than hamburger, from the link below>>>

" Carbs: The Impossible burger has 9 grams of carbs, of which 3 are fibre. The Beyond burger, 3 total carbs with 2 of them fibre. Beef, 0 carbs."

That is really not a lot of carbs, but they do add up. My burger problem is more in the bun anyway.

Calories compare to the Carbs in both, more in the plant based
"Calories: Impossible burger, 240. Beyond burger, 250. Beef burger, 192. (Before cooking, the beef burger contained 283 calories, so the exact calorie count depends on how much fat you allowed to melt off.)"

Fat, to me surprisingly more fat in the Impossible and BYND burgers.
"Fat: Impossible burger, 14 grams. Beyond burger, 18 grams. Beef burger, 12 grams after cooking, down from 17 in the raw beef. Again, this may vary with your cooking style."

Sodium more in plant based but seasoning is the issue >>
"Sodium: The fake burgers have more sodium (370 and 390 milligrams versus 55) but that’s because the fake ones have been seasoned, while the numbers for beef do not include seasoning."

I really don't eat much beef anymore. I eat a lot of salads and add chicken chunks or tuna, although I did see recently dementia and tuna.......

If I do eat a burger out, I will stick with the beef until the government bans it and makes me drive an EV through the drive thru. Or I'll switch if the price of plant based becomes much less than beef.
