If the police investigates a committed crime, the officers involved are not allowed to publicly speak about the ongoing case, as it might negatively affect the case. Still a police officer involved in such a case, is still allowed to talk about all other kinds of topics and airs his view on the increased crime rate in his town, or the latest ballgame, because this is unrelated to his investigation work regarding the specific case.
So again translated into Joe's situation. He is heavily involved in the investigation that seems to be going on in regards to GNBT/NGIO, and thus he is not allowed to speak about these matters. But still he actually IS allowed to be upset about the fact that - in his view - his CompleteVaccine is superior over other FDA approved vaccines out there. I can absolutely relate to his upset, because I am the same way upset about the fact that BARDA has given billions of USD of your taxpayers money to big pharma companies, who 1) could have easily paid for this development themselves and the incentive for them to actually do so, would have been absolutely sufficient if they'd give them guaranteed purchases for a FDA approved vaccine. 2) receive fast track status with the FDA, while he did not get a single dime from BARDA and had to go through the tiring process with the FDA of having to do the entire development in sequence, and is struggeling in each case to get approval by FDA to initiate the next phase of his development.
In my view, what really should have happened to receive a Covid vaccine in the fastest possible manner. BARDA/Operation Warp Speed should have spread the available funding as wide as humanly possible, and distribute it over as many different approaches to create a vaccine as possible. Yet they focussed it on ONE and ONE TECHNOLOGY only, that mRNA technology that has never in the history of Biotech produced a vaccine for anything in the ordinary way through regulary FDA approval, and at the same time left a small company such as GNBT standing outside in the rain, who requested at first only a small fraction of funding that BARDA willingly and easily have given to BigPharma, with the promise to produce a supposedly superior vaccine, with a long shelf life at room/standard refridgerated temperatures, with significantly reduced side effects and an assumed longer period of immunity. With a relatively small investment BARDA could have asked GNBT to say "show me that you can do this".
In a similar way as Joe seems to be ranting about this, I am upset about the currupt system that has surely not acted in the best possible interest of the taxpayers/ US citizens, who paid for all of this. So I honestly cannot blame Joe for being upset about how US officials have treated him and GNBT's application to BARDA funding to develope an II-Key based Covid vaccine.
