This giant Maine Coon cat is sure to become your next internet obsession.
Maine Coons are the largest cat breed and are native to Maine in the U.S. Kefir is a 21-month-old cat who lives with his owner Yuliya Minina in Stary Oskol, Russia. The massive, fluffy cat is often mistaken for a dog at first because of its large size. Minina got Kefir from a cattery when he was still a kitten. Attracted to his immaculate white fur, Minina aptly named the cat after the popular dairy drink.

Kefir currently weighs 26.5 pounds, but Minina expects him to keep growing.
“It’s normal for Maine Coons to keep growing up until they are 3 years old,” Minina told Bored Panda. “It’s funny how others react when they see the cat because it is huge. Many people think that it’s a dog at first.”
Despite the cat’s large size, he’s very gentle. Kefir also prefers natural feed and real meat to dry food. He regularly dines at the dinner table with Minina and her family.
While she adores the cat, he does have one drawback: A ton of shedding. Kefir also likes to jump on Minina’s back while she’s asleep. However, she still feels her cat is 100% perfect.
“But in general, this is a super smart cat. It weirdly can feel the general mood in the house. Kefir doesn’t meow, doesn’t yell and doesn’t harm the furniture. A truly perfect cat,” Minina told Bored Panda.
