I never said a $50b buyout was likely right now, o

The thing is, the pps is utterly disconnected from the inherent value of the company. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that a buyer at the table is the same entity that has driven the pps down, because a BP couldn't risk the pps rising to double-digits during negotiation. Just as NP had to get the 200m shares approved for leverage, the suitor could have needed the pps under a buck for leverage.
In my movie career, I've seen screenplays sell anywhere from $50k to $8m. One deal in the 90s was for a million bucks and the studio bought the writer the bar where he worked, said he could direct, and agreed to let his band record the soundtrack.
Are screenplay sales based on page count or what the producer feels like paying? No, it's based on potential of what the producer or studio believes the movie could gross in the marketplace. The potential of Leronlimab is a lot closer to the script that sold for $8m than the ones that sell for $50k.
