How NOT to topple Democracy Choose wisely. A su

Choose wisely. A successful coup requires a strong, intelligent leader, a detail-oriented man who has the skills to devise a plan, organize the participants, and stay focused on the end goal, without regard to his own sudden whims and self-inflated ego.
In other words, choosing a leader who has proven himself to be lazy, prone to tantrums, not very bright, and only interested in his own grasping for power is not a wise choice. A strong leader does not surround himself with yes-men who will agree with his decisions no matter how disastrous they may be.
What's in it for you? Before agreeing to participate in toppling a government (e.g. the United States of America), it is a question you should ask yourself.
If you have been promised political power in exchange for your agreement to betray your country, make sure the leader who is making that promise does not have a history of viewing loyalty as a one-way street, along with reneging on assurances made (e.g. refusing to pay for services rendered, such as legal fees).
Think it through. Having your leader place loyalists in key positions is no guarantee of success. The US government consists of tens of thousands of employees - and there will always be actual patriots who refuse to go-along-to-get-along. In fact, there are tens of thousands of them who will refuse to do so..
Consider your fellow co-conspirators. Again, strong, reliable leadership at every level is paramount. If your fellow coup-meisters are spineless ass-kissers who cave at the mere thought of being in your Leader's bad books, they are not likely to stand up under pressure. They'll happily throw you under the nearest bus if it means they'll live to grovel yet another day.
Think ahead. It is vital to consider the consequences should the coup you are supporting fail. Failure means investigations into everything you've done, every email/text sent, every phone call made, every statement uttered - you get the picture. And there will NO pardons forthcoming after all, so now you're really up shit's creek.
So when all is said and done, you might regret having done really stupid things - e.g. putting your signature on forged documents wherein you claimed to be duly elected to a position you never held.
Lawyer-up. Again, choose wisely. Lawyers facing disbarment are not your best option, despite the fact that they may be your only option.
Avoid retaining 'expert legal counsel' who want to meet behind a landscaping company, or anyone who insists that Mike Pillow really does have the evidence to prove the 2020 election was 'stoled'.
You were duped, so just admit it. Admit that you were just too stupid to realize all of the above - too stupid to understand that a coup orchestrated by an orange-faced idiot had failure written all over it from day one.
Stupidity is not a legal defense - but at this point, it's your only defense.

1. The people in on this were intoxicated by the idea of it.
And they are indeed stupid. The whole plot didn’t read like a plot that would successfully overthrow the government. Rather, it reads like the plot of a movie script pitched as a satirical comedy.
I hope we get the ending they deserve, with every last one of them in prison.
