It was impossible for him not to have won the vote

Had he received only a mere one single vote he would have still won the vote, I believe, right?
Your hanging on to this he just won the election is pedantic nonsense.
The term was for one year, the vote was supposed to be in October and occurred in November, and there will be another vote later in the current year, possibly even much earlier than October, similar to prior years.
He wasn't just reelected, unless you are merely trying to make the empty point that all directors have just been reelected at all points during the year.
Stick to your argument on the "termination," as it still it not completely clear whether or not it was a true firing or not. However, IMHO, non-legal, of course, the language seems to suggest he was fired. And, they have never told us if it was for cause or not, but the lack of such disclosure could imply not for cause, but I am not entirely convinced by this argument.
