Why? Fridays are for burying bad news. In fact, if you post ambiguous news on Friday afternoon, people will assume you are trying to bury it, so it must be bad.
Mondays are for Mergers/Acquisitions/Buyouts/Etc. Good news is almost always held for the morning. And, before a weekend, even more so. And, Monday mornings get lots of coverage.
How does the company or the stock price benefit by good news on Friday afternoon, rather than the conventional Monday morning?
