I had actually discussed the use Rapid Influenza Surveillance and Response with an expert in March of 2020 at the beginning of the Pandemic and how whatever is working could be immediately relayed to doctors throughout the World during a pandemic using a Rapid Response System. Great idea!
In theory this would eliminate taking drugs off line during extended trials. The problem is the money for the research for such a response was put up by, you guessed it, Big Pharma and the DOD. So they would control just what drugs would be available and to whom. Therefore, Remdesivir and Regeneron, but no Leronlimab or Novavax. And if they can't control it, they buy it which is where we are now.
