'High' Probability of Marijuana May Block COVID

Despite a lengthy list of positive health benefits, cannabis still struggles to gain a more universal acceptance. As the world battles a deadly pandemic, this recent revelation could be a game-changer like no other.

Few would be able to argue against the health merits of a natural herb that now could become a tool to battle the worst health crisis in more than 100 years. During a research study conducted at Oregon State University, particular cannabinoid acids caught scientists’ attention.

These acid compounds attach to the spike protein in SARS CoV2, the virus which causes COVID-19. This stops the spike protein from attaching to the angiotensin converting enzyme-2 (ACE-2) receptors.

The image of these little demon spike proteins are plastered all over the internet. It’s become the trademark logo image for COVID-19. This research strongly suggests that cannabis would disarm those cute little spikes that responsible for millions of deaths.

The cannabis compounds could be used to completely prevent an infection. They would also help shorten and weaken the effects for someone who already has COVID-19. Again, this would be a far superior strategy vs. the vaccine.

Richard Van Breemen, is a researcher with Oregon State’s Global Hemp Innovation Center, College of Pharmacy. Breemen said in a FOX News interview, “The acids from hemp could be used to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection and also to shorten infections by preventing virus particles from infecting human cells.”

These compounds are also present in hemp and hemp extract. Breemen indications that, “They are not controlled substances like THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, and have a good safety profile in humans.”

This astonishing revelation could prove a game-changer in the fight against a deadly virus, which has killed millions. Cannabis, specifically these compound hemp extracts, could save lives. This discovery could also help improve the recovery chances for those with COVID-19.

It’s bewildering why the FDA hasn’t been more open about such research. We’d only need to look at the stranglehold big pharmaceutical companies have on how we treat this pandemic. However, there is an open window for medical marijuana already.

As this new revelation is broadcast across social media, expect someone to ask the difficult questions. Regardless of how hard medical bureaucrats try to bury this, it’s yet another cause for cannabis as a source of healthy healing. Now it might even save lives.
