Lewy body dementia has a lot of the associated pathologies of Parkinson's disease including Lewies Bodies and neuroinflammation. One of the main commonalities is that the cytokine IFN-b and it's receptor are significantly lowered and that is implicated in the diseases. Even multiple sclerosis which rarely exhibits Lewies Bodies shows significantly lowered IFN-b/IFNAR. One thing IFN-b does is lower CCR5 expression thus reducing neuroinflammation.
