One way to combat having to pay trading fees for 10 shares when they are playing their paint down games is put your buy order in using an all or nothing qualifier. That forces them to sell you 30,000 shares (assuming your are trying to buy 30,000 shares) in order for any trade to go through and paint the ticker down. Kind of a hassle but it works as long as you are the next highest bid and the only bid there. It doesn't always work out as someone may want to sell 25,000 and you wont get any of them unless they up it to your 30,000. Low volume days are a bugger no matter how you slice it. lol
