My son-in-law, CMO of several pediatric and a few family practice clinics is just getting over his second bout with Covid. He first contracted Covid before the vaccines were developed and because he had nearly died from an autoimmune disease about ten years ago, we were all very, very worried for him. He is definitely a long-hauler, with a diminished sense of smell and taste, has upper respiratory issues that began with his asthma, were made worse with the auto-immune disease, and exacerbated by the first bout of Covid.
He debated the necessity of getting the vax when it was first rolled out (and there were NO studies of the efficacy of, nor the potential risks to those who had previously contracted Covid and especially anyone who had previously had an auto-immune disease). He ended up getting the Moderna vax, had a horrible reaction to it that he said rivaled the case of Covid he had months before. He really did NOT want to get the second shot and put it off until it became an issue for him in his professional setting. His reaction to the second shot was once again, just plain awful. When boosters were announced, he delayed, delayed and delayed until just before Christmas, when we were all together. No sooner had he got his third shot, than one of the family members child tested positive. We all tested negative up to the time I came home, EXCEPT him. He is now battling his second case of Covid and has had both shots and a booster.
IF Leronlimab was already in the medical arsenal, he would be a wonderful candidate for so many reasons!
I love this man for loving my daughter, for loving three of my grandchildren, for loving my wife and I, for being one of the most giving and truly compassionate people I have ever been blessed to know.
I would GLADLY forego all of the millions I hope to one day see from this miracle molecule if that would speed it along the path to approval and release for everyone who would benefit from it, whether their symptoms are considered MILD or not.
