Designed to make ammonia use more economically viable than before, the engine (propulsion system), could be retrofitted in a relatively short time and would not require an entirely new electric powertrain.

Unfortunately, burning ammonia produces nitrous oxides that are harmful to the environment as they contribute to acid rain and smog formation.
