"We believe this works in COVID because of the Cyt

Keep going. You're gettin' there. There's more than the storm...
Look, 'IF' Omicron is less deadly to individuals, but massively more contagious, is it really 'Less' deadly? I think we all know the answer to that question.
Here's where I know I'm right and lot's of other folks don't yet know they are wrong.
If rate of transmission = rate of mutations = equals more greek letters, then this Omicron transmission rate just got a whole lot mutational. And a whole lot more kinetic.
There isn't a reason in the world that that the "LESS DEADLY" Omicron variant cannot quickly mutate into a "MUCH MORE DEADLY" Omicron+ and/or another "HIGHLY TRANSMISSIBLE" Greek letter.
Less deadly Omicron? More mutational Omicron? I feel so much better.
Transmissions = Mutations = Variations = Possible disaster.
I suppose us meat-hearts will grasp at whatever straws we can until we no longer can.
Merry Christmas Diddly,
