I am very much in favor of Joe not being the COB of either company. This isn't the first time I've posted that idea. It is ridiculous for one person to hold that much responsibility or power. Essentially, Joe is a dictator and has no one to hold him accountable. Ordinarily, shareholders would expect the COB and directors to keep management in check but what happens if the CEO/Pres is the COB? Who calls the BOD meetings?
I would also like to see representation by shareholder activists having a seat on both BOD's. Probably be best to have them be different people so as to diversify experience and separation between the boards.
