This looks very bad. Remedial efforts seem to be failing badly.
The horrific numbers we have already racked up with this virus are with the best efforts we can manage (minus Leronlimab).
Virulence of the disease is yet to be decided upon but the human capacity for denial seems to be at work on the characterization of that aspect.
No doubt the medical system is really going to get slammed to the mat. I did see that Biden is mobilizing the military to help out but untrained folks can't substitute for trained medical personnel.
People really have to ask themselves - How badly do I want to survive this thing? - and then act accordingly. Education and smart choices are your best defense at this point.
Try to support those on the front lines - don't make their jobs any harder. Essential workers will be more essential than ever. We are so interdependent that the loss of each one will hurt us all.
