There are a whole bunch of possible reasons for that eviction to happen. For example, my current employer is in a legal battle with our previous landlord, because our move to our new (company owned) office building needed to be postponed by a couple of months due to delays in the construction. The old landlord insists on the payment of a full year's rent, even though we moved out 6 months into the new contract year.
So whatever may be the reason for the eviction notice none of us know. For sure it does not look good from the outside, but whatever may be the real reason is left to speculation. Especially, if there is a good explanation for this, it would be better to have that knowledge then to always keep our imagination go wild and, as it is human nature, always expecting the worst.
What I fully agree with you though, is that there is absolutely no excuse for not at least having provided a forwarding address for mail. It is unprofessional to have business mail returned to sender. That is totally unacceptable.
