We need to move full steam ahead with Long Haulers, cancer and Nash. Its too early to say with conviction, but it appears to me that Omicron is going to become the dominant strain, and bring a much milder disease with it.
South Africas cases are increasing at a blistering pace. This increase began roughly 10 days ago. Thus far reports are that hospitalizations are not following suit. If, in the next week this holds, we will start hearing positivity in predictions.
I dont want to be overly optimistic, but I do want to combat the fear mongering in the media. It is quite possible that this is the end of the pandemic phase, and the beginning of the endemic phase. This is the normal progression of virus, but it is surprising (if true) how large of an evolutionary leap it took.
Anyhow, if true, it may be time to move on from the critical portion of covid. Time to focus on LH
