I can only guess that cytodyn has a huge number in there mind (rightly so) and the VC and BP are thinking they are crazy.
What would a BP offer be at this stage $10 billion? The board would only have to submit an offer to the shareholders that is credible. The board would most certainly base what is credible on the potential of leronlimab. The valuation based on what we currently have in trials or submittals - HIV, cancer, Covid-19, longhaulers and NASH makes $10 billion seem rather pitiful. Take into account future indications and it's laughable.
BP would most certainly up any offers on EUA or approval but then what is Cytodyn worth when it has a financially stable footing. Years ago I said that BP's offers would lag behind the actual worth of Cytodyn and I still think that's the case. Next year alone we could possibly have Covid EUA, HIV approval and longhaulers approval. What's the credible offer then $100 billion? BP has to answer to it's own shareholders and they'd probably be in revolt over a huge offer on a drug that they would have little understanding of.
