Wow. I've heard before that one's ability to "take" pain have to do with how much your nerves actually express it. Thus older people can actually handle pots and pans too hot for children to hold -- it's not that they're braver, it's that they feel less.
So if reducing CCR5 expression might mean that you feel less pain, Leron might be of use as an overall painkiller. For osteoarthritis, sure, but for lots of other things too.

Of course no one would actually go to a drugstore and buy something that helps with pain, would they?

(While also preventing Alzheimer's and treating arthritis. No older people would be interested in a drug like that.)
