5. Nit-wad Cruz seems to think wingnut conservatives created NASA....
... and based its manned-mission control center in Houston. Actually, that happened in the days when Democrats controlled the state and LBJ, a former U.S. senator from Stonewall, was president.
Indeed, the center was renamed for him after he died in '73. Presumably, Teddy and the Cruzers will want to rename the facility again -- Cruz Space Center sounds catchy, dontcha think? And they will have to rename NASA the Texas Aeronautics and Space Administration, and then the seceded state can beg the U.S. government to keep funding both the center and the state in general And by the way, the Cruz reference is doubly dumb, in that NASA headquarters are not in Texas.
Texas does have a lot of military bases, but the new Independent Dominion of Don't Mess With Us will presumably have to start paying for all those operations or close the bases down, as they'll be useless when the U.S. government moves all the troops to bases in the surviving U.S.
13. Sorry Ted
That's not how it would work. NASA would be a American enclave landlocked by the Republic of Texas, as would other major USG installations, e.g., military bases.
But sure, Ted, by all means we expect to see you on the front lines carrying the confederate battle flag and ready to shed your blood in the ensuing battles. But, as the south did in the Civil War, you will lose, and then it's no more nice Mr. Northern States.
