2021 Revenue Calculations - Changed Procedure for
Post# of 7110

From January 1 to October 22, 2021 - due to the lack of timely updates from the company until very recently - I have been adding up eBay store revenue and items sold manually on a calculator every Saturday for the preceeding Saturday to Friday from the linked "Sold Listings" here - and checking the figures at least once:

When the company started posting weekly eBay management tool summary extracts a few weeks ago, it became obvious that there were some discrepancies. Initially I thought this could be either the week they are quoting for starts and finishes on a different day of the week compared to my methodology - or that a number of sales shown get voided when the winning bidder or "Buy It Now" buyer fails to pay in the requisite timescale.
With the company providing totals both for revenue and items sold to October 25 in the latest PR, it is now clear that it is voided sales making the difference.
To illustrate the scale, about 800 items are affected out of 10,205 in almost 10 months.
Accordingly, now that we have a solid figure from the company as at October 25 (298/365 = 81.6% of the year), I will be using that going forward and adding any weekly summary given late Friday by the company on Twitter.
Only, if no summary is given by the company, will I add up the eBay sales manually.
This will also have the effect of dialling back slightly the anticipated revenue for 2021 - and future years with the 9 x calulation for announced expansion - but it is already clear that the company will comfortably exceed its 30% increase target - it is already on 33.9% with the strongest 2 months still to come.
I'll be re-calculating the revenue estimates in the next post.
