I'm not sure there is a such a thing as an experienced CEO for a "fledgling" biotech, nor do I think it's required. Neither Gates, Jobs, Musk, nor many other successful CEOs were "experienced" when their businesses were "fledgling" companies. Regardless, I think you just made my argument. Why would a CEO of a "fledgling" biotech have known about a month long customs delay with a life-saving drug that had already received approval for use in Brazil. And I don't recall a dramatic drop in covid case numbers at the time he was being told by the CRO the trial would start in July. Speaking of credibility, you're suggesting he should have been "conservative and under promised" the trial start date. So in June he should have said it would it would start four months later?? And if it had started in July, which is what he was being told, his credibility would have been much better after telling everyone it would start in Sept? That's a lose-lose scenario for him.
Wrong. As the CEO, you can't release a major announcement about a huge covid trial in Brazil without giving ANY timeline. You would have been one of the first ones on here complaining about how NP was hiding something. The shareholders have a right to know the "expected" timeline at the time of the announcement.
